A – Para falar de situações que começaram no passado e continuam agora

Quando usamos for e since, o presente perfeito simples é utilizado para falar de ações que começaram no passado e ainda estão ocorrendo. For indica a duração da ação, e since indica o momento em que a ação começou.

I’ve lived in London since May 2006.
It’s not six o’clock. They have been here for two hours.
